Terry C. Strait

  Terry C. "Tweedy" Strait, 60, of Everett, PA passed away Thursday, April 9th, 2020 at UPMC Altoona, PA.

     Terry was born in McConnellsburg, PA on September 28, 1959, the son of the late Marden (DeShong) and Floyd  Strait.  He was the husband of Cindy  (Bolinger) Strait whom he married on July 7, 1994.

     He was a member of the Fort Bedford Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Terry was a Sr. Design Engineer and retired from JLG Industries, Inc after thirty-nine years.  He began his career his senior year in the co-op program.  He always said "I went from sweeping the floors to working in the Engineering Department".  Anyone who knew Terry knew he loved his wife Cindy and his children Bethany and Terry with a passion.  He always had a smile on his face and such quick wit.  Terry saw the best in everyone and every situation and could make you laugh like no other.  He loved to fly fish (boy did he love to fish), spend time with family and friends and sprint car racing.  Protecting our cold water resources with his friends at Fort Bedford TU was of the utmost importance to him.

     In addition to his wife, Terry is survived by daughter Bethany L. Strait (fiancé Jordan House), of Ft. Littleton, PA, son Terry F. Strait (fiancé Maria Tavella), of Pittsburgh, PA, sister Judy Strait, of North Vernon, IN, brothers Jack Strait, of McConnellsburg, PA, Dean Strait, of McConnellsburg, PA and Woodrow Strait, of Harrisonville, PA.  Terry was preceded in death by sister June Winter and brother Randall Strait.

     Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
