Saundra G. Hanks

Saundra G. Hanks, 68, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday, November 2nd, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA.

      Saundra was born in Berkley Springs, West Virginia on February 23, 1951, a daughter of Mary E. (Bernhard) Hanks, of McConnellsburg, PA and the late Galen N. Hanks.

     She was a homemaker and also was a waitress at Johnnie's Diner in McConnellsburg, PA.  Saundra was a member of  Rebekah's Auxillary of the Odd Fellows in Harrisburg, PA.  She enjoyed watching old TV movies, listening to Elvis Presley music and taking care of children.

     In addition to her mother she is survived by her children; daughter Nancy D. Helman of Chambersburg, PA, daughter Angala G. Hanks-Shaffner of Warfordsburg, PA, son John R. Hanks of McConnellsburg, PA and son Nathan T. Helman of Montesano, WA.  She is also survived by   sister Sharon D. (wife of Joe) Koch, of Hummelstown, PA; sister Tammie S. Cooper, of McConnellsburg, PA; sister Guyda M. (wife of Hobie) Hann, of McConnellsburg, PA; brother Galen  H. (husband of Michelle) Hanks, of St. Thomas, PA, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son Robert L. Helman, Jr., sister Kari E. Hanks-Brumbley and brother John Landvater.

     There will be a memorial service held at 112 Goldie Rd. McConnellsburg, PA  17233 at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 17th, 2019.
