Samuel R. Piper, 80, of Harrisonville, PA and formerly of Chambersburg, PA passed away Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.
Sam was born in Chambersburg, PA on February 10, 1941, the son of the late Helen L. (Strock) and Daniel H. Piper.
He was a 1960 graduate of Chambersburg High School and served in the Army National Guard Troop B 104th Armored Cav in Chambersburg, PA from 1962 to 1969.
During his working career, he worked in a family business for twenty years known as the Orange Car of Chambersburg. Sam then worked for several H.D. truck dealers working his way up to Vice President of sales and then worked ten years for Rental Service Corp. renting H.D. equipment to construction contractors upon retiring in 2006. After retiring, Sam spent most of his time fly fishing in local streams in and around Fulton County.
Sam is survived by sons John D. Piper, of Harrisonville, PA, Duane J. (husband of Kandi) Piper, of Leesburg, VA and brother Norman R. Piper, of Hanover, PA.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
