Ray E. Koontz

 Ray E. Koontz, 98, of Wells Tannery, PA passed away Wednesday,  December 12, 2018 at Pennknoll Village, Everett, PA.  He was born in Bedford County and has resided in Fulton County most of his life. 

     Ray was a graduate of Bedford High School in 1938 and a WWII veteran.  He was superintendent of the Pine Grove Methodist Church Sunday School for many years and was a current member of the Wells Valley Presbyterian Church where he faithfully attended.  He loved the Lord and would discuss his faith openly.  He was a member of the Breezewood Lions Club for 33 years and served as president for a term.  He was a carpenter in his early years and also worked on the PA turnpike.  He retired from Transit Auto Parts where he was a salesman.  Ray enjoyed talking to all the people he met on his route,  he also loved fishing and trips to Canada.

     His parents were Lester R. Koontz and Ruth M. (Diehl) Koontz.  He was married to Dolores R. Sprowl Koontz who preceded him in death. He was a faithful husband and care giver.  Ray was also preceded in death by sister Rozella Koontz Mortimore and daughter Linda Lou Koontz.

     He is survived by one daughter H. SuzAnne Hockensmith and son in law Gary L. Hockensmith, one grandson Robbey L. Hockensmith and one great granddaughter Mikaila L. Hockensmith.

     Visitation will be Monday, December 17th, 2018 from 10 to 11 AM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.

     Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 17th, 2018  with Pastor Rebecca Drover officiating.

     Interment at Wells Valley Presbyterian Cemetery, Wells Tannery, PA.
