Obituary

Mary Jane Morton, 91, a resident of the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit and formerly of Big Cove Tannery, PA passed away Monday, December 14th, 2020 at Fulton County Medical Center , McConnellsburg, PA.
Mary Jane was born in Ayr Township, PA on April 26, 1929, the daughter of the late Minerva (Mellott) and Chalmer  Cutchall.  She was the widow of Jack Henry Morton whom she married on June 9, 1948 and he passed away on May 28, 2006.
She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Big Cove Tannery, PA.  This is the only church where Mrs. Morton had her membership and in 2020, she was the longest living member at seventy-eight years.  Mary Jane was also a member of the Fulton Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, #519 in McConnellsburg, PA, the VFW Post #655 Auxiliary in McConnellsburg, PA and the Grease, Steam and Rust Association in McConnellsburg, PA.
Mrs. Morton owned and operated the Big Cove Dairy Farm with her husband Jack from 1959 to 2003. With her husband, they were in dairy farming for fifty plus years and actually never fully retired.  Mrs. Morton was the Chief Financial Officer for their business; she raised their family; she worked the fields, the dairy and the cattle beside her husband.  She could drive any piece of equipment; except the combine.  The Mortons were proud owners of John Deere equipment.  Even after Mrs. Morton semi-retired; she could be seen at the farm driving a John Deere so others could do things like pick rocks, clean fence rows, etc.  Mary Jane's first love was family, Big Cove Farm, her church and her community.  These things always preceded her own needs.
Mary Jane is survived by daughter Carol Morton Tebo (wife of Dave) , of Big Cove Tannery, PA, son Jack H. (husband of Stacy) Morton, II, of Big Cove Tannery, PA, brother Robert "Bob" (husband of Martha) Cutchall, of Mercersburg, PA, grandchildren Shawn Seville, Cole (husband of Christina) Seville, Kimberly (wife of Jesse) Bunch, Jamie Morton Bivens (wife of Dustin) and granddaughter Taylor Morton, great grandchildren Ethan Seville, Cabe Batdorff, Luke and Avery Bivens.  Mrs. Morton is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Mary Jane was preceded in death by daughter Kay Jacqueline Morton Seville on December 19, 2007 and brother Charlie Paul Cutchall.
