Mary E. Hanks, 93, a resident of the Fulton County Medical Center Extended Care Unit and formerly of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Sunday, October 4th, 2020 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.
Mary was born in Thurmont, MD on June 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Bertha (Brady) and Franklin Bernhard. She was the widow of Galen Nathan Hanks whom she married on August 14, 1947 and he passed away on January 2, 2004.
Mrs. Hanks was a member of the Jehova's Witness Church in McConnellsburg, PA and was a homemaker. Mary loved everybody she met and always had a smile.
Mary is survived by daughters Sharon Koch, of Hummelstown, PA, Tammie Cooper, of McConnellsburg, PA, Guyda Hann, of McConnellsburg, PA, son Galen H. Hanks, of St. Thomas, PA, twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by daughters Saundra Hanks, Kari E. Brumbley, son John Landvater, sisters Virginia Mellott, Alma Carpenter, Vivian Killette, half-sister Laura Staley and brother Melvin Bernhard.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the home of Guyda and Hobie Hann (formerly the home of Mary and Galen), 216 Goldie Road, McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
