Marvin E. "Bus" Harr, 71, of Big Cove Tannery, PA, passed away Monday, August 15th, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Marvin was born in Big Cove Tannery, PA on August 18, 1950, a son of the late Virginia M. (Gordon) and Ernest G. Harr.
He served six years in the National Guard from July 13, 1969 to July 12, 1975. He then went on to work for Harr's Construction before owning and operating Harr's grocery in Big Cove Tannery. He later worked for Western Maryland Hospital.
Marvin was a member of the Independent Corner Church in Big Cove Tannery, PA. He enjoyed watching the Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and the news. He loved spending time with his niece Sherry and sister Martha. Marvin loved animals, especially his dogs and cats.
He is survived by his sister Marie E. (wife of Larry) Stine, of Chambersburg, PA, brothers Merrill E. (husband of Jackie) Harr, of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Morrow E. (husband of Linda) Harr, of Big Cove Tannery, PA and Marlin E. (Nancy) Harr, of Big Cove Tannery, PA. He is also survived by his sister in laws Beulah Harr of Chambersburg, PA, Elaine Harr of Clear Springs, MD, Robin Harr of McConnellsburg, PA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by sisters Martha Harr, Mary E. Clever, brothers Max E. Harr, Mark E. Harr, Mervin E. Harr, Myron E. Harr, Melvin E. Harr, brother in law Robert Clever and sister in law Hildagard Harr.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday, August 18th, 2022 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.
Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 19th, with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating. There will also be one hour of visitation held prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
