Marlin H. Hollinshead, 83, of Horntown, VA and formerly of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Friday, September 3rd, at his residence in Virginia.
Marlin was born in Harrisonville, PA on October 14, 1937, a son of the late Anna M. (Strait) and Wayne D. Hollinshead. He was the husband of Linda L. (Eckenrode) Hollinshead, whom he married on February 14, 1974.
Marlin served in the United States Army as a Field Communication Specialist from 1962 to 1969. He was the owner and operator of Hollinshead's Radio Shack/Repair Center in McConnellsburg, PA for many years. He was a founding member of the Fulton County Christian School, served as a member and was past President of the Faith Mission Inc., was a member and past President of the Central Fulton School Board and was a Pastor at the Horntown Baptist Church in Horntown, VA.
In addition to his wife, Marlin is survived by his daughters Kimberly A. Mull, Christine J. (wife of Kevin) Hock, Francine (wife of Tim) Shaw, sons Michael E. (husband of Donna) Newell, Keith A. Newell, John Francoise Eney, of Haiti, sister Gloria J. Fetterhoff, brothers Gary (husband of Mary) Hollinshead, Allen Hollinshead, twenty-seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Marlin was preceded in death by son Mark H. Hollinshead and grandson Dustin Mull.
Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 10th, with Pastor Doug Poffenberger officiating. There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Sideling Hill Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
