Lesley G. "Les" Gordon

 Lesley G. "Les" Gordon, 61, McConnellsburg, went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, August 26, 2021, at his home.  Born September 15, 1959, he was the son of the late Sherman M. and Louise Gress Gordon.  He was a graduate of McConnellsburg High School and worked at Grove Manufacturing and most recently at JLG Industries, Inc.
 
     He was a member of McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, Narrows Gunning and Game Club and the St. Thomas Sportsmen's Association. Les grew to love and trust the Lord throughout his courageous battle with cancer.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting guns, knives and antiques.  He loved going to auctions, yard sales and car shows.  One of his passions was his recently restored 1971 Plymouth Barracuda. He loved working on and restoring this vehicle and he recently won awards at two separate car shows which was a great joy for him.  His other passion was his late beloved compassionate and faithful collie dog, Sable which he treasured with all his heart.  
 
     He is survived by his brother Steffan A. "Steff" Gordon (husband of Jenny) of McConnellsburg, his good friends, Barb Smith, Bobby Keefer and Dixie Clevenger all of McConnellsburg as well as numerous cousins including Adrianne Mouse of Chambersburg. Les was also very appreciative of the numerous family and friends that came to visit him, called him and sent cards of encouragement during his final days. He loved each and every one of you and may the Lord bless you for this special show of kindness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Louise Gordon.

     Unfortunately due to the recent Covid-19 outbreak, graveside services will be held Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg with Pastor Joshua Davinsizer officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, 121 N. 2nd St. McConnellsburg, Pa. 17233.
