John N. Truax, Sr.

John N. Truax, Sr., 79, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Thursday, January 30th, at Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit, McConnellsburg, PA.

     John was born in McConnellsburg, PA on July 11, 1940, a son of the late Ruth E. (Seville) and Charles E. Truax.  He was the widower of Shirley A. (Matthews) Truax, whom he married on February 19, 1961.  She preceded him in death on March 27, 2015.

     John retired from Grove Manitowoc, Shady Grove, PA after thirty-seven years of service.  He was a member of the Mason Dixon Beagle Club.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

      He is survived by his sons; Russell N. Truax, Timothy A. Truax, Donnie E. (husband of Terry) Truax of McConnellsburg, PA and John N. Truax, Jr. of McConnellsburg, PA.  In addition to his sons, he is survived by sisters Mildred Gelvin, of McConnellsburg, PA, Shirley Kohr, of Hustontown, PA, brothers Richard Truax, Lee Truax, Steve Truax and  Gary Truax, all of Hustontown, PA.  He is also survived by two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  John was preceded in death by sisters Marie Pittman, Alma Hook, Janet Barnett and brother Charles Truax, Jr.

     Services are private at the convenience of the family.
