John A. Myers

 John A. Myers, 83, of Harrisonville, PA, passed away Monday, April 5th, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, PA. 

     John was born in Dutchtown, PA on May 14, 1937, a son of the late Margaret Elsie (Dorty) Myers and Alvin  Huss.  He was the husband of Sandra D. (Kaiser) Myers, whom he married on May 22, 1987.

     He served in the United States Army.  John worked as an equipment operator for various construction companies throughout his life.  He was a member of the Mercersburg Legion Post 517, the McConnellsburg Legion Post 561, Mercersburg Moose Lodge 1790 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 4274 in Harrisonville, PA.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son John A. (husband of Jennifer) Myers, Jr., of Liberty Twp., OH, daughters Julie McKenrick, of Norfolk, VA, Tammy Howell, of McConnellsburg, PA, step sons Chris, Shawn and Craig DeShong.  He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by brother Ben F. Myers, sisters Betty Talhelm, Dorothy A. Kipe and Margaret Marie Bookwalter.

     Services are private at the convenience of family.
