Imogene Jones McLucas

  Imogene Jones McLucas, 95, a resident of the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Facility and formerly of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Friday, May 31st, 2019.

     Imogene was born in Cross County, AR on September 20, 1923, the oldest child of the late Sarah Alice (Wallace) and Ernest J. Jones.  She was the widow of Dr. Russell C. McLucas whom she married on April 4, 1947 and he passed away on December 22, 1998.

     Mrs. McLucas graduated from Vanndale High School in 1942, was a member of the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in McConnellsburg, PA, the Fulton County Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary,  was past Matron of the Fulton Chapter of the Eastern Star #519 and also was on the Franklin/Fulton Mental Health Board for many years.  She trained  as a nurse at the University of Tennessee at Memphis and worked at her husband's medical practice in McConnellsburg, PA.    Imogene enjoyed wildlife, especially watching squirrels and birds in her backyard.  She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and reading.

     Imogene is survived by son Russell C. (husband of Linda) McLucas, Jr., of McConnellsburg, PA, daughter Stephanie M. (wife of Mark) Crouse, of McConnellsburg, PA, sister Joanna Von Stein, of Wylie, TX, grandchildren Jessica (wife of Donald, III) Truax, of McConnellsburg, PA, Kylene (wife of Scott) Arwood, of McConnellsburg, PA, Troy Long, of South Mountain, PA, great grandchildren Tyler Long, Shelby Long, Rosalyn Truax, Lily Truax, Emma Truax, Theodore Arwood, Henry Arwood, great great grandchildren Nala and Dex Lewis.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. McLucas was preceded in death by brothers E. Ray Jones, Jimmy W. Jones and Norman L. Jones.

     Visitation will be Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 from 4 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA with an Eastern Star Service being held at 7:30 PM.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Monday at the church.

     Religious Service at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 3rd, 2019  with Pastor Loy Garber, Pastor Chris Elliott and Pastor Marleen Shepherd officiating.

     Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the R.C. McLucas, M.D. Scholarship, in care of the Fulton County Medical Center Foundation Board, 214 Peach Orchard Road, McConnellsburg, PA  17233 or the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Facility, 214 Peach Orchard Road, McConnellsburg, PA  17233.
