Herman D. Strait

     Herman Delonia Strait, 84, of Harrisonville, PA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19th, 2020 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg,  PA.

     Herman was born in Harrisonville, PA on September 6, 1936, the son of the late Ola (Pine) and Charles  Strait.  He was the husband of Judy A. (Riddle) Strait whom he married on July 12, 1987.

     He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and he attended the Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, PA.  Herman was a mason for thirty-five years and then a maintenance person at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, PA for nine years.  During his retirement, he then worked at the Giant in McConnellsburg, PA.  Mr. Strait enjoyed playing and singing country music, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Linda Barling, of Needmore, PA, Pamela Karsteter, of Hanover, PA, Debby Smith, of Warfordsburg, PA, sons Jake  Strait, of Mercersburg, PA, Sammy Strait, of Warfordsburg, PA, Terry Riddle, of Hanover, PA, sister Ada Lowe, of Duncansville, PA, seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.  Herman was preceded in death by his first wife June M. Strait, son Herman Strait, Jr., sisters Nellie Smith, Hazel Hess, Dott Nelson, Jane Barnhart, Maudaline Hess, brothers David and Clarence Strait.

     Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services and interment at the Siloam United Methodist Cemetery in  Harrisonville, PA will be private.
