Harry E. "Ed" Hendershot, 79, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, September 5th, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.
Harry was born in McConnellsburg, PA on August 3, 1944, a son of the late Susan Viola "Dot" (Souders) and J. William Hendershot. He was the widower of Coletta S. (Howell) Hendershot, who he married in July of 1972. She preceded him in death on February 27, 2017.
Harry proudly served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He worked at JLG, McConnellsburg for over thirty years before retiring in January of 2007. After retirement he then served as a crossing guard for Central Fulton School District and worked at Giant in McConnellsburg, PA.
Harry was a member of the Cito United Methodist Church, McConnellsburg, PA. He also attended the Calvary Independent Baptist Church in McConnellsburg, PA and the Webster Mills Free Brethren Church in McConnellsburg, PA. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, camping and playing golf.
He is survived by his son Harry E. ( husband of Nina) Hendershot ll, of Big Cove Tannery, PA, daughter Sharna J. (wife of Chad) Bubla, of Phoenix, AZ, son Jonathan W. Hendershot, of McConnellsburg, PA, sisters Berenice Reasner, of Chambersburg, PA, Sally (wife of Harry) Garland, of Needmore, PA, Dottie (wife of Daryl) Mellott, of Chambersburg, PA and brother John L. (husband of Faye) Hendershot, of Mercersburg, PA. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Spenser R. Will, Holden G. Will, Chad Michael Bubla, Chase A, Bubla, Cash R. Bubla and Justus W. Hendershot. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, sisters Laura Rockwell, Ruth Frank and brothers William S. "Short" Hendershot and Gary Hendershot
Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 11, 2023 with Pastor Tim York officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will be at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
