Evelyn I. Lester, 94, of McConnellsburg, PA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 12th, 2021 at Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit, McConnellsburg, PA.
Evelyn was born in Waterfall, PA on September 9, 1926, the daughter of the late Zola Maude (Barnett) and William Earl King. She was the widow of Wayne Lester whom she married on February 11, 1946 and he passed away in November of 1984.
She was a member of the Mt. Tabor Church of the Nazarene in Waterfall, PA, worked at Sagner, Inc in McConnellsburg, PA for several years until it closed and then at the High's Convenient Store in McConnellsburg, PA. She also babysat her grandchildren. Evelyn enjoyed going to church and spending time with her friends and family.
Evelyn is survived by daughters Sandy (wife of Floyd) Gilliard, of Avon Park, FL, Rita (wife of Robert) Wright, of Wells Tannery, PA, Theresa (wife of Jim) Miller, of North Ft. Myers, FL, Loretta (wife of Steve) Raker, of Mercersburg, PA, sisters Mary Sheehan, of Waterfall, PA, Naomi Roberts, of Waterfall, PA, fourteen grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren on the way. Evelyn was preceded in death by son Ronnie Lester, sisters Hilda King, Martha Ulsh and brother William Earl King, Jr.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 17th, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church.
Religious Service at Mt. Tabor Church of the Nazarene, Waterfall, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 with Pastor Duane Williams officiating.
Interment at Mt. Tabor Church of the Nazarene Cemetery, Waterfall, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Tabor Church of the Nazarene, 5286 North Hess Road, Waterfall, PA 16689.
