Ella L. Ramsey

  Ella L. Ramsey, 83, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Saturday, August 10th, 2019 at UPMC Carlisle Hospital, Carlisle, PA.

     Ella was born in Burnt Cabins, PA on July 1, 1936, the daughter of the late Florence Irene (Widener) and Clarence Foster McGowan.  She was the widow of Carl LeRoy "Cub" Ramsey whom she married on November 17, 1962 and he passed away on May 30, 2005.

     She was a member of the Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, PA and the VFW Post #655 Ladies Auxilliary in McConnellsburg, PA  Ella was a seamstress at Sagner, Inc. in McConnellsburg, PA and then was a bookkeeper at Fulton Motors in McConnellsburg, PA as well as a homemaker.  She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, reading, cooking, baking and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

     Mrs. Ramsey is survived by daughters Wanda (wife of Daniel Lee) Foster, of Burnt Cabins, PA, Karen (wife of Brian Eugene) Miller, of Lancaster, PA, sisters Precious Mae Mann, of Ft. Littleton, PA, Connie L. (wife of Robert) Middaugh, of Chambersburg, PA, Doris Jean (wife of Norman) Lydic, of Greencastle, PA, brother Warren H. McGowan, of St. Thomas, PA, grandchildren Brett K. Foster, Joshua  Carl-Robert Miller, Matthew  T. Miller, Linley R. Miller and great granddaughter Natalie Violet Miller.  Ella was preceded in death by first husband Victor Harry McLaughlin, sisters Alberta Irene Coons, Helen Adeline Cooley, Francis McGowan, brothers LeRoy McGowan, Harry Dallas McGowan and infant triplets.

     Visitation will be Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

     Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 15th, 2019  with Pastor Bill Bair officiating.

     Interment at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.
