Dick A. Knepper, 78, of Hustontown, PA passed away Wednesday, April 6th, 2022 at Helen Simpson Rehab Hospital, Harrisburg, PA.
Dick was born in Knobsville, PA on May 25, 1943, the son of the late Helen G. (Mellott) and Harry S. Knepper. He was the husband of Ruth M. (Booth) Knepper whom he married on October 15, 1966.
He was a member of the PA Farm Bureau Association and the Center United Methodist Church in Three Springs, PA where he taught Sunday school and served as Superintendent for many years. He also was President of the Ben Knepper Scholarship fund. During his younger years, he was a bridge carpenter working for New Enterprise and E. F. Goetz and then retired in 2005 from JLG Industries in McConnellsburg, PA. He also was a farmer who took great pride in working on the family farm. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildren play baseball. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Barry A. (husband of Naomi) Knepper, of Hustontown, PA, Scott P. (husband of Angel) Knepper, of Hustontown, PA, sisters Doretta (wife of Ralph) Mellott, of Harrisonville, PA, Neva (wife of Walter) Houck, of Waterfall, PA, brother Henry (husband of Lucinda) Knepper, of Hustontown, PA, grandchildren David, Jacoby, Sarah, Faithe and Daniel Knepper. Dick was preceded in death by son Ben D. Knepper and sister Sally Baker.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 10th, 2022 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Monday at the church.
Funeral Service will be held at Center United Methodist Church, Three Springs, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 11th, 2022 with Pastor Becky Cutchall officiating.
Interment at Center United Methodist Cemetery, Three Springs, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center Cemetery Association, in care of Tom Newman, P.O. Box 3, Waterfall, PA 16689.
