Daryl L. Scott, 71, of Harrisonville, PA, passed away Wednesday, October 21st, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA.
Daryl was born in Chambersburg, Pa on December 31, 1948, a son of the late Miriam (Stumbaugh) and Frank H. Scott. He was the husband of Carolyn S. (Fagley) Scott, whom he married on November 29, 1969.
Daryl served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church in Harrisonville, PA, the American Legion Post #561, McConnellsburg, PA and a life time member of the McConnellsburg and Needmore Volunteer Fire Companies. He also served as an EMT for thirty-five years, taught CPR and first aid for Southern Alleghenies and was a Forest Fire Warden for many years. Daryl worked numerous jobs before retiring from Abraxas in South Mountain, PA. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Darwin (husband of Cassie) Scott, of Needmore, PA, daughter Selita (wife of John) Wright, of Harrisonville, PA, daughter Christy (wife of Donald II) Lemond, of Harrisonville, PA, sister Brenda Darlene (wife of Edward) Warren, of Eugene, OR, brother Frank H. (husband of Pam) Scott, Jr., of Greencastle, PA and step-mother Rita Voss of Fannettsburg, PA. He is also survived by five grandchildren. He was in preceded in death by two grandchildren Joseph and Jenevieve Wright and step-father Robert T. Voss
There will be a visitation held on Monday, October 26th from 6 PM to 8 PM. at the Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church, Harrisonville, PA. If attending please use the guidelines set by the CDC for COVID-19.
Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church, Harrisonville, PA, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 27th, with Pastor Josh Shadle officiating. There will also be one hour of visitation held before the service at the church.
Interment at Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Cemetery Harrisonville, PA.
Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
