Cynthia J. Whitehead

 Cynthia  J. Whitehead, 68, of Brandon, FL and formerly of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Friday, January 28th, 2022 at her residence.  
     Cynthia  was born in Minneapolis, MN on September 3, 1953, the daughter of the late Ruth Ann (Reynolds) Shrimplin and Joseph Ray Hundley.  She was the wife of Gary S. Whitehead whom she married on July 24, 2004.
     In her younger years, she attended the Needmore Bible Church and the Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, PA.  Mrs. Whitehead had worked at Bi-Lo in McConnellsburg, PA and Citi-Corp in Hagerstown, MD for many years before moving to Florida in 2004.  Cynthia loved her pets and her family very much. 
     In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Stephanie R. Mellott, of McConnellsburg, PA, Tracy N. (wife of Corey) Brown, of Brandon, FL, Angela E. Mellott, of Berkley Springs, WV, brothers Larry (husband of Pat) Hundley, Keith (husband of Tina) Hundley, Jeff Hundley, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  Cynthia was preceded in death by sister Barbara Richer.
     A graveside service will be held  at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 9th, 2022  with Pastor Doug Poffenberger officiating. 
     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Cynthia may be made to a charity of one's choice.
