Claude Roger "Crow" Mellott

Claude Roger "Crow" Mellott, 83, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Tuesday, June 12th, 2018 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

     Claude was born in Harrisonville, PA on March 24, 1935, the son of the late Elena V. (Mellott) and Claude L. Mellott.  He was the husband of Janet L. (Truax) Mellott whom he married on February 13, 1957.

     Mr. Mellott served in the Air Force, was a member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church in his younger years and a past member of the American Legion Post #561 and VFW Post #655 both of McConnellsburg, PA.  He was an electronics engineer with IBM upon retiring in 1987, he then worked part time at the Great Cove Golf Course maintenance department.  Mr. Mellott was an avid reader especially of history novels, enjoyed working on garden tractors, small engines and in his woodworking shop. He also worked with Tom Peck's racing crew for many years, built mantel and grandfather clocks, loved hunting, dirt track racing and his dog "Smoke".

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Lisa A. (wife of Paul) Johnston, of McConnellsburg, PA, sister Louise Long, of Orbisonia, PA, brothers Earl (husband of Grace) Mellott, of Camp Hill, PA, Jerre Mellott, of McConnellsburg, PA, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by son Claude R. Mellott, III.

     Memorial Service at at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018  with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating.

     Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

     Interment will be held at a later date.

     Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
