Charles A. Mellott, 93, of Needmore, PA, passed away Wednesday, March 16th, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.
Charles was born in Needmore, PA on August 4, 1928, a son of the late Jessie (Garland) and Blair Mellott. He was the widower of Betty Jane L. (Sheeder) Mellott, whom he married on August 26, 1950. She preceded him in death on June 16, 2010.
Charles served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the service, he drove truck before starting C.A. Mellott Lumber, which he owned and operated for thirty years. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren in Needmore, PA and a Lifetime Member of the Needmore Volunteer Fire Company. Charles was an avid reader, especially western books from Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey being his favorites.
He is survived by his sons Rodney C. (husband of Christina) Mellott, of Bellefonte, PA, Gregory A. Mellott, of Needmore, PA, Mark A. (husband of Connie) Mellott, of Warfordsburg, PA, brothers Cecil B. (husband of Thelma) Mellott, of Needmore, PA, Russell L. (husband of Doris) Mellott, of Needmore, PA and sister Bonnie R. Dollinger, of Needmore, PA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister Vivian Deneen and a brother Willard L. Mellott.
There will be a visitation held on Monday, March 21st, 2022 from 4 PM to 8 PM. at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA. There will also be one hour of visitation held prior to the service on Tuesday.
Funeral Services will be held at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 22nd, with Pastor Roger Truax and Pastor Mac Miller officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Charles A. Mellott may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery 2507 Pleasant Ridge Rd. Needmore, PA 17238.
Interment will be at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery Needmore, PA. Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
