Brandi Mellott Obituary

Brandi Jaye Mellott, 42, of Harrisonville, PA went home to be with her Lord on Monday, December 21st, 2020  at UPMC Pinnacle, Harrisburg, PA surrounded by her family.

     Brandi was born in Chambersburg, PA on January 4, 1978, the daughter of Barbara (Evitts) (wife of Bill) Buterbaugh, of McConnellsburg, PA and Jay (husband of Donna)  North, of Spring Run, PA.  She was the wife of Chad  Mellott whom she married on May 27. 2000.

     She was a member of the Revive Community Church in McConnellsburg, PA and a part of their Praise team, a 1996 graduate of McConnellsburg High School and a 2000 graduate of Penn State Mont Alto where she got an associate degree in nursing.  She also got her teaching certificate through Penn State Mont Alto and was the Allied Health Nursing teacher for the Fulton County AVTS at the McConnellsburg High School.  Brandi was instrumental in working with the Fulton County Medical Center and local businesses to get students to be able to do job shadowing.  Mrs. Mellott was a board member of the MHS Soccer Booster Club, had a black belt degree in karate since the ninth grade, enjoyed photography and was a soccer/gymnastics mom who enjoyed every minute of it.  Brandi also loved the Lord and playing the keyboard for the Praise team at her church.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister and daughter.

     In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by daughter Jayde Mellott, of Harrisonville, PA, son Noah Mellott, of Harrisonville, PA, sisters Nichole (fiance of Marvin Kendall) Earley, of McConnellsburg, PA, Amber (wife of Adam) Runk, of Dry Run, PA, brothers Troy (husband of Jen) Buterbaugh, of Harrisonville, PA, Brad (husband of Chelsea) Buterbaugh, of McConnellsburg, PA, maternal grandmother Betty Lou Chilcote, of Spring Run, PA, seven nieces and nine nephews.  Brandi was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Roy Frank and Alice Marie North, William G. and Rosetta Buterbaugh, maternal grandparents Harry and Daisy Evitts and maternal grandfather Calvin Chilcote, Sr.

     Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services and interment at Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg, PA will be private.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Daisy Fund, P.O. Box 409, Shippensburg, PA 17257 or the Revive Community Church, 301 East Maple St., McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
