Alma L. Kinzie, 85, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 at Menno Haven Rehab Center, Chambersburg, PA.
Alma was born in Big Cove Tannery, PA on June 3, 1936, the daughter of the late Nina (Bain) and Frank D. Bivens. She was the widow of Donald R. Kinzie whom she married on June 19, 1970 and he passed away on September 21, 2019..
She was a member of the Laurel Ridge Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery, PA and was a factory worker at the Sagner Sewing Factory in McConnellsburg, PA.
Alma was a generous and caring person. She knew the meaning of giving and often put the needs of others ahead of her own. A devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend , to all that knew her. The fight was hard in recent years, but it was clear she was ready to go home. She will be greatly missed by everyone, but is finally at peace with her Lord and Savior.
Mrs. Kinzie is survived by sons David (husband of Lana) McElhaney, of McConnellsburg, PA, Dennis J. (husband of Debbie) McElhaney, of Big Cove Tannery, PA, daughter Susan K. (wife of Greg) Cordell, of Lancaster, PA, step-sons Michael (husband of Wanda) Kinzie, of Cincinnati, OH, Thomas Kinzie, of New Port News, VA, step-daughters Yvonne (wife of Rodney) Brown, of Hampton, VA, Teresa (wife of Marc) Welenteychek, of Richmond, VA, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Alma was preceded in death by sisters Catherine "Kate" Jane Ott, Martha Seville, brother Harold "Shorty" Bivens and step-son Eric Kinzie.
Services at the Laurel Ridge Christian Church with Pastor David Hamilton officiating will be private. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
