Alice Jean Snyder

     Alice Jean Snyder, 80, of Warfordsburg, PA passed away Thursday, November 18th, 2021 at Chambersburg Hospital after a brief illness.
     Alice was born in Dott, PA on May 15, 1941, the daughter of the late George B. Truax and Esta (Layton) Truax.
     Mrs. Snyder graduated from Southern Fulton High School in 1960 and retired after thirty-five years as a teacher's aide from the Southern Fulton School District.  She was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove Christian Church in Warfordsburg, PA, a fifty year member of The Order of The Eastern Star, past Worthy Matron of Hancock Chapter 103 Order of The Eastern Star, member of Queen Esther Chapter 3 Order of The Eastern Star in Hagerstown, MD and a fifty year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
     She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, James Snyder of Warfordsburg, PA, daughters Lisa (wife of Alan) DeShong of Harrisonville, PA, Lori (wife of Ron) Whitt of Hagerstown, MD, grandchildren Keith ( husband of Megan) DeShong of Needmore, PA, Brenna DeShong of Camp Hill, PA, James (husband of Nadia) Whitt of Gaithersburg, MD, Dr. Steven Whitt, MD (husband of Laurie) of Chicago, Il, Daniel (fiance Ali Forrest) of Frederick, MD, great grandchildren Walter Whitt, Margaret Whitt and Daphne DeShong.  Alice was preceded in death by brother Richard Truax (wife Shirley) of State College, PA. 
     Due to COVID-19, services will be at the convenience of the family.
     Interment at Cedar Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg, PA. 
     In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cedar Grove Cemetery Assoc., in care of Pam Hartman, 3081 Great Cove Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267.
