Zella L. Shields

Zella L. Shields, 55, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Tuesday, August 21st, 2018 at her residence.

Zella was born in Lancaster, OH on May 11, 1963, the daughter of Helen Marie (Barthalow) and Roy Barnhart, of McConnellsburg, PA.

She was a woman of great faith and attended numerous local churches throughout her life.  In her younger years, she worked at the Fulton County Medical Center in the dietary department, the Forestry Department, was a maintenance person for Cardinal Glenn Apartments and then worked for Peck's Transportation.  Zella loved collecting coins, cleaning, taking pictures, all animals and nature.  It made her happy to make other people happy.  She also had a deep love for all her pets, including the ones that preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, Zella is survived by partner for twelve years and fiance Curtis L. Schetrompf, sons James Shields (companion Sierra Owen), of McConnellsburg, PA, Daniel "Tig" Shields (companion Misty Bottenfield), of McConnellsburg, PA, Jonny Joe Wible, of Trumansburg, NY, Jesse Wible, of McConnellsburg, PA, daughters Len Shields (companion Gale Mellott), of McConnellsburg, PA, Melanie (wife of Thomas) Brady, of McConnellsburg, PA, sister Helen M. (wife of Randy) Straley, of Hedgesville, WV, brother Joseph L. Souders, II (partner Allen Roser), of York, PA and eight grandchildren.  Preceded in death by brothers Earl J. and Timmy L. Souders and former companion Jonathan Wible.

Visitation will be Friday, August 24th, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 25th, 2018  with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating.

Interment will be private.
