Woodrow W. Keefer, 86, a resident at Menno Haven Retirement Community and formerly of Mc Connellsburg, PA passed away Thursday, September 9th, 2010 at Menno Haven Retirement Community, Chambersburg, PA.
Woodrow was born in Big Cove Tannery, PA on October 10, 1923, the son of the late David and Ruth (Downin) Keefer. He was the widower of Beulah E. (Peck) Keefer whom he married on July 30, 1946 and she passed away on September 6, 2010. He served in the U.S. Navy in WW II, was a member of the Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, PA, the VFW Post# 655, McConnellsburg, PA and was a foundry inspector at the Frick Company in Waynesboro, PA for over thirty years
Mr. Keefer is survived by Sons Woodrow W. (husband of Beverly) Keefer of McConnellsburg, PA,
Randolph I. (husband of Bonnie Mellott) Keefer of McConnellsburg, PA, Robert H. (husband of Roxanne) Keefer of Elizabeth, PA, Daughter Pamela M.K. (wife of Thomas) Taylor of McConnellsburg, PA, Sister Edith Seville of McConnellsburg, PA, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Preceded in death by fourteen siblings.
Religious Service at Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, PA, at 11:15 A.M. on Saturday, September 11th, 2010 with Rev. Delmas Bard officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA. There will be visitation on Friday, September 9, 2010 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
