William "J.R." Fischer Jr., 81, of Crystal Spring, PA, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026. 

J.R. was born on July 16, 1944 in Amaranth, PA. He was the son of the late William L. Fischer Sr. and LaVata I. (Dodson) Fischer. He was the husband of Faye V.L (Mellott) Fischer, who he married on September 1, 1971.

J.R. was a member of Breezewood Lighthouse Assembly of God in Breezewood, PA. He had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in hunting, farming and piloting. He also enjoyed traveling across the world where he participated in mission trips with Barnabas Ministries in Guatemala, Zimbabwe, throughout Africa as a whole, and Nevada to numerous Indian reservations. He cherished anniversaries through memorable hunting trips. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jackie L. (wife of Ryan) Shank of Chambersburg, PA, Deena K. Kendall of Crystal Spring, PA, Jamey M. (husband of Denise) Fischer of Crystal Spring, PA and Adam W. (husband of Christina) Fischer of Crystal Spring, PA. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Colt, Billy, Lily, Ella, Maximos, Grant and his brother, Francis "Ed" (husband of Sherri) Garlick of Mercersburg, PA. 

A memorial service will be held at the Breezewood Lighthouse Assembly of God in Breezewood, PA at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 24, 2026, with Pastor Jonathan and Pastor Tracey Wyns officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
