William P. "Bill" Kies

William P. "Bill" Kies, 66, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Thursday, October 8th, at Pinnacle Health Hospital, Harrisburg, PA. Bill was born in Chambersburg, Pa on March 23, 1949, a son of the late Jean  (Porter) and Harold P. "Skip" Kies.  He was the husband of Jane E. (Pittman) Kies, whom he married on June 12, 1972. He served in the U.S. Army  during the Vietnam War. Bill was a mechanic at JLG Industries before retiring in 2005.  He was a member of the St. Paul Luthern Church in McConnellsburg, PA and was a 1967 graduate of the McConnellsburg High School.  Bill enjoyed gardening and tinkering. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his sons William P. "Bill" Kies II (Companion of Crystal Ulsh) of Hustontown, PA, Robert A. Kies (Companion of April Burch) of McConnellsburg, PA, sister Cynthia Luongo of Centre Hall, PA, brother Allan D. Kies (husband of Sandra) of Hustontown, PA and sister Jennifer K. Lowman (wife of Bill) of Holmes Beach, FL.  He is also survived by five grandchildren Jayden and Aaleyah Kies, Gage Henry, Mason Burch and Casey McQuait. Graveside services will be held at 3PM on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA  with Pastor Bill Bair officiating. Arrangements were made by the Howward L.
