Wanda L. Sweeney

Wanda L. Sweeney, 51, of  Harrisonville, PA, passed away Friday, June 24th, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Wanda was born in Chambersburg, Pa on March 14, 1965, a daughter of the late Gwendolyn (Scott) and William J. Sweeney.  She was the companion of Reuben D. Hann of Harrisonville, PA. She worked as a sous chef at Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, PA. and was a member of the American Legion Post 561, McConnellsburg, PA.  Wanda enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandson. In addition to her to companion, she is survived by her daughter Stephanie D. Laird (spouse of Brianna Lutz) of Clifton, NJ, son Samuel H. (husband of Megan) Laird lll of Mercersburg, PA, sisters Evelyn (wife of Harold) Sword of Mercersburg, PA, Brenda Sweeney of Mercersburg, PA, Rose (wife of Mike) McCarty of Mercersburg, PA, brothers Leon (husband of Tracy) Sweeney of Mercersburg, PA and Bobby Sweeney of McConnellsburg, PA.  She is also survived by her grandson Samuel H. Laird lV of Mercersburg, PA. Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 28th,  with Rev. Floyd Myers officiating. There will be a visitation held on Monday, June 27th from 4 PM to 8 PM. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.
