Virginia Margaret Tritapoe, 93, of Hancock, MD, died on Saturday, March 10th, 2012 at Golden Living Center, Hagerstown, MD.
Virginia was born in Berkley Springs, West Virginia on July 14, 1918, the daughter of the late Emory Franklin and Emma Melissa (Moon) Thompson.
She worked as a Manager for 32 years at Good Will Store in Hancock, MD. She also worked at the Snow White Laundry Mat in Hancock, MD for 6 years before retiring. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church on Timberidge, where she served as secretary for numerous years.
She is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 2 step-children, Ruth and Anna Miller. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Franklin Shoemaker and her second husband, Daniel Tritapoe. She was also preceded in death by her children, daughter Betty Adele Shoemaker Bishop, son William Franklin Shoemaker, daughter Joan Arlene Shoemaker Young, daughter Carolyn Joyce Shoemaker, grandaughter Elizabeth Arlene Tritapoe, brothers John, Clive, and Andrew Thompson and sisters Julia Clark and Opal Thompson.
Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 with Rev. Alice Davis officiating.
Interment at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
There will be visitation on Tuesday, March 13th, 2012 from 2 PM to 8 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be one hour of visitation before the service at the funeral home.
