Vera I. Hann

Vera Irene Hann, 97, of Harrisonville, PA, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Chambersburg, PA.

Vera was born in Needmore, PA on May 14, 1928, a daughter of the late Oliver E. and Louetta E. (DeShong) Mellott. She was the wife of Lester W. Hann, who she married on April 17, 1948. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1999.

Vera graduated in 1947 from the Green Hill High School, where she was Valedictorian. In her younger years, she was a member of the Ladies Aide at Fairview United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, PA, and a past treasurer for the Fulton County Republican Women. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers and vegetables in her garden, going to flea markets, antiquing and listening to gospel music. She also enjoyed attending Sideling Hill Christian Church when she was able and the Hustontown Senior Center.

She is survived by her children; Connie (wife of Terry) Strock, of Elkton, MD and Dennis (husband of Connie) Hann, of Fort Littleton, PA. She is also survived by sister; Elsie Jackson, of Breezewood, PA, brother; Paul (husband of Linda) Mellott, of Needmore, PA, three grandchildren; Erica (wife of Corey) Hill, Ryan (husband of Alyshia) Hann, Angie Hann, one great-grandchild; Addie Hann and one on the way and a very special nephew; Jeffrey (husband of Pam) Mellott, of Mercersburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her infant son; Randy E. Hann, brothers; Fred E. Mellott, Melvin "Mick" Mellott and Harry A. Mellott and sisters; Beulah Mumma and Hilda Daniels.

Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 25, 2025, with Pastor Bill Swope officiating. There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service on Thursday. If attending, please consider wearing pink in memory of Vera. Interment will be at Asbury Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Vera, may be made to the charity of one's choice.
