Velma L. Crouse

Velma L. Crouse, 95, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Velma was born in Hancock, MD on January 15, 1928, a daughter of the late Sylvia I (Clingerman) and Marshall J. Trail.  She was the widow of Frank  Crouse, whom she married on September 23, 1947.  He preceded her in death on July 3, 2003.

Velma was a homemaker but worked at GC Murphy in her younger years.  She was a member of the Hancock Assembly of God in Hancock, MD.  She enjoyed reading, especially her bible, sewing, quilting, gardening and loved her flowers.

She is survived by her daughters Carol A. (wife of Donald) Sigel, of Greencastle, PA, Mary J. (wife of Paul) Avella, of Hancock, MD, Sharon L. Crouse, of Greencastle, PA, sons W. Curtis (husband of Diana) Crouse, of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Mark A. (husband of Stephanie) Crouse, of McConnellsburg, PA, brothers Merle (husband of Janet) Trail Sr., of Hancock, MD and David (husband of Marie) Trail, of Warfordsburg, PA.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a sister Miriam Stachowski and brothers Allen Clingerman, Marshall Trail Jr. and Donald Trail.

There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.

Funeral services will be held at the Hancock Assembly of God, Hancock, MD, at 11:00 AM  on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating. There will also be one hour of visitation held prior to the service.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
