Tressa F. Deshong

Tressa Fidelius DeShong was born to Eliza Millin Rotz, on Tuesday, the 16th of July, 1935. After graduating from Green Hill High School in 1954, she married her true love, Avon Lee DeShong in 1955, with whom she shared her life with until her death.

Tressa was more than a wife and a mother, for two years she worked at the Stanley Manufacturing Company in Chambersburg, PA, before transferring to McConnellsburg in 1960. Her final careers were working at McConnellsburg H&P, and Home Health Care.

When not at work, or with her family, Tressa was an active member of the Asbury Methodist Church with her lifelong friends. She found joy and happiness serving her parish and community. She volunteered at the McConnellsburg Hospital Nursing Home and the Green Hill Sewing Club.

Tressa is survived by her husband of 69 years Avon; her youngest sister Betty; her two granddaughters; Kaeleen and Tina, and various other nieces and nephews. Tressa was preceded in death by both of her parents, her daughters; Tina Renee DeShong, and Twila Kay Martin, both her brothers, and one sister.

Her friends and family will remember her easy laughter, her welcoming nature, and they will always cherish the time spent with her, and they will be warmed by their memories of her.

A memorial service will be held at the Asbury Methodist Church, Harrisonville, PA, at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 24, 2025, with Pastor Erik Sollenberger officiating. There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service on Friday at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
