Travis D. Abbott

Travis D. Abbott, 46, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 9, 2023 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Travis was born in McConnellsburg, PA on December 13, 1976, a son of Thomas C. Abbott, Sr., of McConnellsburg, PA and the late Patricia E. (Betts) Abbott.  He was the husband of Crystal R. (Detwiler) Abbott, whom he married on December 1, 2000.

Travis was a 1995 graduate of McConnellsburg High School.  He then went on to serve in the United States Air Force.  After his time in the service, Travis came back home and worked at JLG Industries in McConnellsburg before becoming an IT Executive for Zion Cloud Solutions. He was also a Computer Networking Instructor  for the Fulton County Area Vocational Technical School and owner/operator of Abbott's RC in McConnellsburg.  He was also a member of the Calvary Independent Baptist Church in McConnellsburg, PA.

In addition to his career in electronics, Travis had many interests and hobbies that he loved to share with the community, not only his RC shop but his love for music, playing the guitar and becoming known as "Fulton County's local Batman hero".  He enjoyed sharing his music by DJ'ing local events and weddings, giving guitar lessons, and in his younger years, playing in a band.  He was also an avid collector of Batman merchandise.  Travis was very active in his community and always tried bringing the best out  in everyone.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his daughter Payton Elizabeth Abbott, of McConnellsburg, PA, brothers Thomas C. Abbott, Jr., of McConnellsburg, PA, Tracy L. (husband of Jackie) Abbott, of McConnellsburg, PA and sister Tammy E. (wife of Todd) Hege, of Mercersburg, PA. Per Travis's request there will be no viewing.  A visitation will be held on Monday, April17th from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 18th,  with Pastor Tim York officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Fulton County Honor Guard. Arrangements were made by the Howard L.
