Thomas J. Pawlak, 79, of Warfordsburg, PA passed away Thursday, April 8th, 2021 at home. Tom was born in Blawnox, PA on January 28, 1942, the son of the late Stella J. (Michalak) Pawlak and Robert Pawlak. He was the companion of Janet Blankley for the last sixteen years. Tom retired from the D.C. Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. He also worked for C. William Hetzer in Hagerstown, MD. Tom was a member of the Moose Lodge in Berkeley Springs, WV. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing and spending time with his family. In addition to his companion Janet, he is survived by his daughters Robin L. (wife of James T.) Bowman of Hancock, MD, Anita E. (wife of John) Munson of Warfordsburg, PA, Janet's daughter Charlene Younker of Warfordsburg, PA, grandchildren Daniel, Jonathan and Julie Seville, John and Joseph Munson, Heidi Sorino, Jordan and Kaelani Castle, Brandi Younker and Stephen Blankley. He is also survived by a number of great grandchildren and a great grandchild on the way. Tom was predeceased by his first wife Vivian E. Pawlak in 1990, his second wife Florence Winkle-Pawlak in 2005, sons Thomas R. and Todd C. Pawlak, Janet's son Timothy Castle, brothers Steve Pawlak of Severn, MD and Theodore Pawlak of Springdale, PA. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 12th, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating. Please follow CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19.
