Thelma B. Reed

Thelma Brown Reed, 74, of McConnellsburg PA, passed away at 6:45 pm on May 4, 2019 surrounded by her husband of fifty years, Lyle and two daughters, Jennifer and Julie. Born February 19, 1945 in Huntingdon, PA. she was the daughter of the late Fred O. and Verda (Penrod) Brown.  She graduated from Southern Huntingdon High School in 1964. She enjoyed her children, her shih-tzus, knitting, collecting antiques, reading novel after novel, as well as making a beautiful and welcoming home for all who visited. She was a member of the Cito United Methodist Church. Thelma's children include Jennifer Reed-Harry and husband David Harry who have one son, Alexander Harry 26 in Dry Run, PA; Julie Reed-Young and daughter Anna Kathryn Young 10, in Hancock, MD. She is also survived by siblings Richard Brown of Chambersburg, PA and Arthur Brown of Maddensville, PA. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Naomi Brown Weller and James Sherwood Brown. A memorial service will be held on Satruday, May 11th, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Cito United Methodist Church, McConnellsburg, PA with Pastor Faith Anderson to celebrate and honor Thelma's life.  Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
