Sonja Kaye Anderson, 64, of Wells Tannery, PA, died Thursday, July 21st, 2011 at her residence, after a long illness.
Sonja was born in Waterside, PA, on October 1, 1946, the daughter of the late Clifford M. and I. Elizabeth (Treece) Croft.
She was the wife of William E. Anderson, whom she married on February 3, 1968.
She was of the Methodist Faith. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she worked outside the home as a secretary for an optometrist and most recently the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Sonja was also the Judge of Election for Wells Township for several years, she was a Democratic Committee person, and was Democratic Vice Chairman for Fulton County. She also helped with girl scouts and other organizations that her children were involved with. She loved to do crafts and was a very good artist. She collected apple decor and was an avid bird watcher.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Susan K. Bennett of Mercersburg, PA, son Jeffrey L. Anderson of Duncansville, PA, and sister Linda A. Weicht (wife of) Frank Weicht. She is also survived by a grandson Mathieu E. Bennett and a grandaughter Brittany Anderson
Funeral Service will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 23rd, 2011 with Pastor William Bair officiating.
Interment at Wells Valley Methodist Cemetery Wells Tannery, PA.
There will be visitation on Friday, July 22 from 2 PM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 PM to 8 PM. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be one hour of visitation before the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
