Shirley M. (Guessford) Mellott

Shirley M. Mellott, 72, of Warfordsburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 9th, at her residence. Shirley  was born in Hagerstown, MD on January 22, 1945, a daughter of the late Helen (Seiders) Guessford and Lester Howard Guessford, Sr.  She was the wife of the late Eugene W. Mellott, whom preceded her in death on May 6, 2004.  They were married on February 22, 1963. Shirley was homemaker and a seamstress. She worked at London Fog in Hancock, MD, and Sagner in McConnellsburg, PA. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church Warfordsburg, PA . Shirley is survived by her three children; Brian E. Mellott of Warfordsburg, PA, Darin K. (husband of Leslie) Mellott of Spartansburg, SC and Jeffrey A. (husband of Amy) Mellott of Warfordsburg, PA.  She is also survived by a brother Lester H. Guessford, Jr. of Needmore, PA, grandchildren Monica Gloyd of Berkley Springs, WV., Mallory and Jennifer Mellott of Spartansburg, SC., greatgrandchildren; Bentley Spankler, Halie and Natalie Gloyd and Olive D. O'Shield.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson Brian E. Mellott, Jr., and a brother Robert Guessford. There will be a visitation held on Friday, August 11th from 6 PM to 8 PM.  at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church, Warfordsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 12th,  with Pastor Denver Plessinger officiating.  There will also be one hour of visitation held before the service.
