Sandy B. (Mellott) Rouzer

Sandy B. Rouzer, 64, of Big Cove Tannery, PA passed away Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA. Sandy was born in Big Cove Tannery, PA on June 4, 1947, the daughter of the late King W. and Edna V. (Williams) Mellott.  She was the wife of Gary A. Rouzer whom she married on June 21, 1997. In addition to her husband, she is survived by Sons Dion (husband of Karen) Miller of Princeville, IL, Dane (husband of Jo) Miller of Needmore, PA, Danny (husband of Michelle) Miller of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Doug (husband of Marsha) Miller of Chambersburg, PA, Step-Daughter Melissa of Minnesota, Step-Sons Chris of Warfordsburg, PA, Derrick of Minnesota, Darren of Minnesota, Sister Sharleen (wife of Reuben) Brady of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Brother Rodney (husband of Cheryl) Mellott of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Grandchildren Cole, Jessie, Jake, Breanna, Noah, Kylee, Connor & Colby Miller & one due in May, Step-Grandchildren Dylan, Aurora & Adala.  Preceded in death by daughter-in-law Jennifer Miller. Sandy was a lifelong member of Laurel Ridge Christian Church, Big Cove Tannery, PA where she played the piano since the age of eleven and numerous Christmas programs were created and directed by her. She worked as a seamstress to raise her boys.  When they were grown, God gave her Gary and they were inseparable for fifteen wonderful years. Sandy loved her husband, her boys and the families that grew from them.  She loved music, flowers and her garden.  Sandy loved her home and made it a warm, welcoming place for all.  She also loved "I Love Lucy", Andy Griffith, the Carol Burnett Show, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Beverly Hillbillies, Hallmark movies, the Fulton Fall Folk Festival, Christmas, Christmas decorations and big family meals. But most of all, Sandy loved Jesus.  Jesus was real to her ... right to the very end. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 4th, 2012  with Rev. David Hamilton and Rev. Duane Williams officiating. Interment at Laurel Ridge Christian Church Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery, PA. There will be visitation on Thursday May 3rd, 2012 from 2 to 8 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home.
