Ruth E. Lynch

Ruth E. Lynch, 85, of Big Cove Tannery, PA passed away Friday, November 4th, 2016 in Chambersburg, PA. Ruth was born in Boswell, PA on February 20, 1931, the daughter of the late Inez L. "Vine" (Boyer) Humbert and Thomas O. Humbert, Sr.  She was the widow of John F. Lynch whom she married on November 2, 1948 and he passed away on May 21, 2005. She was a member of the Laurel Ridge Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery, PA, worked in her younger years at Sagner, Inc. in McConnellsburg, PA and Ft. Loudon as a seamstress.  She also was a mail carrier for many years.  Ruth enjoyed playing games such as board games, cards and crossword puzzles.   She also liked fishing, hunting mushrooms and collecting rocks and stones from places that she visited.  Mrs. Lynch was a self-taught accordion player who loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family. Ruth is survived by daughters Brenda J. (wife of Doug) Gordon of McConnellsburg, PA, Adrien J. (wife of Pat) Miller of Chambersburg, PA, brother Thomas O. "T.O." Humbert, Jr. of McConnellsburg, PA, sisters Lois Crouse of Lebanon, TN, Rhoda Duke of Chambersburg, PA, Mona Lynn Menner of Chambersburg, PA, grandchildren Eric S. (husband of Sharon) Hoopengardner of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Chaun Tel (wife of Todd) Souders of McConnellsburg, PA, Julie R. Grant of Chambersburg, PA, great grandchildren Chris Crouch of Chesapeake, VA, Stacy Brown of Warfordsburg, PA, Dylan, Dakota and Tristin Deneen all of McConnellsburg, PA, Kennidi Brown, Tamara Gritton, Aliyah Johnson, Ava and Bellamy Grant all of Chambersburg, PA, great great grandchildren Landon Crouch, Audrey, Aubrey and Soleil Gritton.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 12th, 2016  with Pastor David Hamilton and Pastor Russell Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, November 12th, 2016 from 9:30 AM to 12 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Interment at Laurel Ridge Christian Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Company Transport Fund, 112 E.
