Ruth J. Bentz 82, of Needmore, PA, passed away on Thursday July 16, 2026, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA. 

Ruth was born on July 14, 1944 in Crystal Spring, PA. She was the daughter of the late Leroy "Wes" and Florence "Peg" (Reel) Miller. She was the widow of Charles M. Bentz, who she married on August 20, 1965. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2014.

Ruth was employed by DESCOM at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg PA, retiring June 1995. She enjoyed farming as well as fishing, when she was able. Most of all Ruth loved her family and spending time with them.

Ruth is survived by two daughter's. Stacey J. (wife of Jody) Hovermale, of Berkeley Springs, WV, Peggy A. (wife of Troy) Koons, of Needmore PA. She is also survived by four granddaughters Jessica Crouse, Ashley Francis, Cheyenne Koons and Peyton Koons and five great grandchildren Bryson, Cole, Jack, Archer and Aspen. Sister Ruby Barnhart and brother Ray Miller. She was preceded death by brothers Charles (Chuck) Miller, Roger Miller and Roy Miller.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc. PA. with Pastor Brandon Hill officiating. There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service on Wednesday. 

Interment will be at the Laurel Ridge Christian Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery, PA.
