Roy G. Hollenshead

Roy G. Hollenshead, 90, of Needmore, PA passed away Thursday, May 4th, 2017 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Roy was born in Needmore, PA on March 21, 1927, the son of the late Blanche (DeShong) and Thomas  Hollenshead.  He was the widower of Dorothy H. (Laidig) Hollenshead whom he married on June 3, 1950 and she passed away on October 7, 2014. Mr. Hollenshead served in the U.S. Navy in WW II, was a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church in Needmore, PA and the IUOE Local #66.  Roy also was a former member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and the NRA.  He was an operating engineer and a farmer all his life. Roy is survived by sons Mike Hollenshead of Needmore, PA, Steve Hollenshead of Harrisonville, PA, Jeff Hollenshead of Charles Town, WV, daughter Susan Sipes of Harrisonville, PA, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Religious Service at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, PA at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 6th, 2017  with Pastor Bill Swope officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, May 6th, 2017 from 1 to 2 PM   at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, PA. Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
