Roger W. Sowers

Roger W. Sowers, 59, of Harrisonville, PA passed away Thursday, October 1st, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown, PA.

Roger was born in McConnellsburg, PA on June 5, 1961, the son of Sarah E. (Helman) Sowers, of McConnellsburg, PA and the late Wayne A. Sowers, I.  He was the husband of Resondia J. "Sonnie" (DeShong) Sowers whom he married on April 28, 1984.

Mr. Sowers  served in the U.S. Army as a SP4, was a member of the Cito United Methodist Church in McConnellsburg, PA, the Fulton Honor Guard in McConnellsburg, PA, the VFW Post #655 in McConnellsburg, PA and was the shop foreman at Remsburg's Service Center in McConnellsburg, PA.  Roger enjoyed muscle cars, NASCAR, car shows and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his mother and his wife, he is survived by sons Dustin R. "Dusty" Sowers, of Needmore, PA, Trent T. (husband of Emily) Sowers, of McConnellsburg, PA, brothers Gregory A. (husband of Deb) Sowers, Wayne A. Sowers, II and Donald Lee (husband of Tina) Sowers all of McConnellsburg, PA.  He is also survived by grandsons Colton, Waylon and Owen and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA, at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7th, 2020  with Pastor Faith Anderson and Pastor William Swope officiating.  If attending, it is encouraged to bring a lawn chair and to follow CDC restrictions regarding COVID-19.

Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral costs to Resondia Sowers, 8184 Black Bear Road, Harrisonville, PA 17228.
