Robert R. "Rudy" Vores

Robert R. "Rudy" Vores, 86, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, April 20th, 2011 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Rudy was born in McConnellsburg, PA on October 2, 1924, the son of the late Charles I. and Myrtle (Smith) Vores.  He was the widower of Imogene Mae (Roher) Vores. Mr. Vores served in the U.S. Army Air Force in WW II., was a member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, former member of the American Legion Post# 561 and the VFW Post# 655 of McConnellsburg, PA.  He also worked for the U.S. Postal service as a postal clerk for twenty-nine years upon retiring. He is survived by Son Robert L. "Bob" and Norma  Vores of McConnellsburg, PA, Daughter Lori L. and Michael Kuhn of York, PA, Sister Betty Horton of Hagerstown, MD, grandchildren Brad Vores, Tara Focht, great grandchildren Alyssa and Jackson Focht.  Preceded in death by sister Helen Martin, brothers John and Charles Vores. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 23rd, 2011  with Pastor John Godissart officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA. There will be visitation on Saturday, April 23rd, 2011 from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rudy to the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church New Building Fund, 121 North 2nd St., McConnellsburg, PA 17233 or the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Company, 112 Cherry Street, McConnellsburg, PA 17233 .
