Robert J. "Bob" Wible

Robert J. "Bob" Wible, 70, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Saturday, December 13th, 2014 at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg,  PA. Bob was born in McConnellsburg, PA on September 26, 1944, the son of the late Bertha "Betty" (Mellott)  and Step-Father James Mack Chesnut.  He was the husband of Cheryl A. (DeShong) Wible whom he married on July 23, 1966. Mr. Wible  served in the U.S. Navy as an IC3 in the Vietnam War, attended the Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, PA, was a member of the American Legion Post #655, McConnellsburg, PA, the VFW Post #561, McConnellsburg, PA, charter member of the McConnellsburg Jaycees and also worked as a financial officer at various banks.  Bob enjoyed golfing and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. In addition to his wife, he is survived by Daughters Christine S. (wife of Stephen) Christman of Greencastle, PA, Tracy L. Kendall of McConnellsburg, PA, Step-Sisters Shirley Sample, Linda Covert and Dolly Miller all of McConnellsburg, PA, Grandchildren Mandy (wife of Justin) Hykes, Matt Christman and Michaela Kendall. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 17th, 2014  with Pastor William Swope officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 4 to 8 PM.   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sideling Hill Christian Church, 10424 Sipes Mill Road, Needmore, PA 17238.
