Robert L. "Bob" Hershey, 44, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Thursday, July 14th, 2016 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA surrounded by his family and friends.
Bob was born in McConnellsburg, PA on September 10, 1971, the son of Linda (Heinbaugh) Hershey and Wallace A. "Sam" Hershey, Jr. of McConnellsburg, PA. He married his childhood sweetheart A. Misty Hershey on September 21, 1996.
He attended the Evangel Assembly of God in McConnellsburg, PA, was a 1991 graduate of McConnellsburg High School and a 1992 graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, TN. Bob worked all through high school at Handy Andy's in McConnellsburg, PA and his professional career consisted of working at Cressler Trucking, Inc. in Shippensburg, PA as a diesel mechanic and for the last eighteen years at PennDOT in McConnellsburg, PA. Bob enjoyed hunting, farming, motorsports, working on cars and tractors as well as watching his son play numerous sports. Bob was greatly loved and will be missed by his many friends and family.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by son Wyatt L. Hershey of McConnellsburg, PA, brothers Troy (husband of Deborah) Hershey of Harrisonville, PA, Todd (husband of Yolanda) Hershey of McConnellsburg, PA, maternal grandmother Anna Sheffield, niece Sidonna Hershey and nephews Jacob, Henry and Drake Hershey all of Harrisonville, PA. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents Grace and Wallace Hershey, Sr., paternal grandparent Warren DeShong, uncles Arthur and Richard Hershey and aunt Beverly Swope.
Religious Service at Evangel Assembly of God, McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 18th, 2016 with Pastor William McCommons officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 17th 2016 from 2 to 8 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Monday at the church.
Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
