Richard F. Wilson, 83, of Needmore, PA, passed away Friday, December 22nd, at the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Center.
Richard was born in York, PA on August 31, 1940, a son of the late Dorothy (Ort) and Eugene Wilson and Ross and Goldie Mellott who raised him. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Mellott) Wilson, who he married on October 14, 1961.
Richard served in the United States Army. He retired from James River Corporation in Chambersburg, PA. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren in Needmore, PA. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, especially taking care of his yard and fruit trees. He also loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Leslie E. (husband of Diana) Wilson, of Chambersburg, PA, Larry R. (husband of Jolinda) Wilson, of McConnellsburg, PA, daughter Barbara A. Grissinger, of Chambersburg, PA, sister Mary Ann Newcomer, brother Gary Fazenbaker and half sister Cindy (wife of Jim) Redden. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters Delores O'Brien, Lois Taylor, Kay Stevens, half brothers Carl Wilson and Timothy Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 27th, with Pastor Roger Truax and Pastor Mac Miller officiating. There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery Needmore, PA.
