Richard J. "Dick" Hopkins

Richard J. "Dick" Hopkins, 62, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Tuesday, July 21st, 2015 at his residence. Dick was born in McConnellsburg, PA on June 14, 1953, the son of the late Betty (Rotz) and Merrill  Hopkins.  He was the husband of Barbara A. (Plessinger) Hopkins. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, PA, the Lockings Gun Club, the Rocky Mountain Gun Club both in Big Cove Tannery, PA and was formerly a forklift operator at Mellott's Wood Preserving in Needmore, PA In addition to his wife, he is survived by Daughter Stephanie L. (wife of Marvin, II) Richards of McConnellsburg, PA, Brothers Parker Hopkins of Harrisonville, PA, Gary "Punch" Hopkins of McConnellsburg, PA, Robert "Bobby" Hopkins of McConnellsburg, PA, Sister Barbara Swope of Harrisonville, PA, Granddaughter Morgan A. Richards of McConnellsburg, PA, numerous nieces and nephews and special buddy Logan Crouse.  Preceded in death by brothers Charles "Chuck" and William "Bill" Hopkins. Religious Service at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 25th, 2015  with Pastor Denver Plessinger officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 24th, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Interment at Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses. Arrangements were made by the Howard L.
