Rae B. Mellott

Rae B. Mellott, 70, of Needmore, PA passed away Thursday, January 20th, 2011 at her residence. Rae was born in Cito, PA on January 15, 1941, the daughter of the late Edwin and Beatrice (Souders) Bookheimer.  She was the wife of Willis A. Mellott whom she married on December 24, 1959. Mrs. Mellott was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA where she taught Sunday school for many years and also was a homemaker. In addition to her husband, she is survived by Sons Timothy A. Mellott of Needmore, PA, Toby A. (husband of Elizabeth) Mellott of Concord, NC, Sisters Elva Davis of Hollidaysburg, PA, Catherine Peters of Scotland, PA, Brothers Merrill, Jack and Dean Bookheimer all of Chambersburg, PA, Robert Bookheimer of Richmond, VA, Ronald Bookheimer of Columbus, OH, Clyde Bookheimer of McConnellsburg, PA, Grandchildren Darin Mellott, Wesley Mellott and Chase Carey.  Preceded in death by brothers Lawrence and Larry Bookheimer. Religious Service at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren , Needmore, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 25th, 2011  with Pastor Roger Truax officiating. Interment at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Needmore, PA. There will be visitation on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rae to the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, 2507 Pleasant Ridge Road, Needmore, PA 17238.
