Paul N. Mellott

Paul N. "Pappy" Mellott, 84, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Sunday, May 5th, 2013 at his residence. Paul was born in Needmore, PA on May 29, 1928, the son of the late Oscar and Claire (Reed) Mellott.  He was the widower of Helen  Layton who passed away on July 6, 1988. Mr. Mellott served in the U.S. Army in WW II, was a member of the American Legion Post #561 of McConnellsburg, PA, worked for K.G. Richards for many years as a mechanic and a welder, was a farmer and also loved dirt track racing. He is survived by Daughter Nancy Klebonis of Boswell, PA, Companion Janet Hann of McConnellsburg, PA, Step-Daughters Norma DeShong of Knobsville, PA, Cindy Kitchens of Greencastle, PA, Cathy Stines of Marion, PA, Step-Son Joe Hann of McConnellsburg, PA, Brother Willis Mellott of Needmore, PA, Grandson Robert A. Mellott of Everett, PA, Granddaughter Jenine Norton of Ft. Loudon, PA, thirteen step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, twenty-nine step-great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, two step-great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by sister Sylvia Wertz and brother Maynard Mellott. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 9th, 2013  with Pastor Dan Porterfield officiating. Interment at Sideling Hill Baptist Cemetery, Needmore, PA. There will be visitation on Wednesday, May 8th, 2013 from 2 to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
